Red Bull driver Daniil Kvyat was voted the Driver of the Day for finishing third at the Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai on Sunday.

Kvyat started the race in sixth place, but went on to clinch a podium position behind Mercedes’ Nico Rosberg and Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel.

While the 21-year-old angered Vettel for what the German believed was a dangerous maneuver on the opening lap that caused Vettel to collide with team-mate Kimi Raikkonen, he was voted as the top driver on the day.

Kvyat is only the second driver to have won the award as Haas’ Romain Grosjean secured the honour at the first two races of the season in Australia and Bahrain.

The Russian’s third place finish in Shanghai is only his second podium finish, having come second at the Hungarian Grand Prix in July last year.
